Sistine Seven

For the past seven weeks a church called Warehouse 242 in Charlotte has been doing a seven-week sermon series called the Sistine Seven, with each week focusing on a different milestone in Christ’s life. And for each week, they had a different artist compose a 2-8 page piece of sequential art that corresponded with that week’s milestone.

This past week, Easter Sunday, they ran a comic that I’ve been working on for the past 3 or so weeks based off of the Resurrection and more specifically, Thomas and the idea of doubt.

New Habits

I am going to start something new this upcoming week. Once a week, I will be posting a blog entry detailing the sort of projects and ideas that I’ve been working on lately, as well as some example images. I’m going to attempt to do this on a once-a-week basis. So check back soon!

The Illustration page of the site is updated with 6 images, most of them recently completed. A couple of the images are still quite large, which I’ll work to fix later to give it a faster download time…but just grin and bear it ’til then.

Also, many thanks to Jonathan for hosting this and helping me out pulling this thing together!

I am now the proud owner of jakepageillustration.com! I’ll be putting up some work into the Illustration and Sketchwork sections soon, as well as just working the site over as I customize the thing.

A month later, what I’ve been up to lately.

O Ex Morte Vita, how you have come and gone. Quickly too. This was one of the two pieces that I contributed to the show…the other one needs work still, I’ve decided. Namely, color. This is called Adam Bomb. Get it? *nudge nudge*

And then yesterday I went back and worked on a piece that I did about 2 years ago that I was really just about completely unhappy with. So I went back, edited out the crappy parts, created some good parts, photoshopped them in, and now it’s quite look-atable.
